Banknote 2 thalers 01.12.1810 of the Duchy of Warsaw -.
ser. B - 5-digit numbering : 54731 , variety with the stamp of the Central Liquidation Commission on the reverse, type with the signature of the commissioner - T. Ostrowski.
An exceptionally beautiful natural piece. Due to the early years of issuance as well as the delicate, almost "tissue" paper used for their printing, to this day the vast majority of thaler banknotes are preserved even in agonal states of preservation, and even these, due to their lack of widespread availability, are eagerly added to collections. In this auction we have a piece that is well above average, there are a few fractures vertically, as well as the typical perforation on the left side, but what is most beautiful about this banknote are the exquisitely preserved two dry stamps. In a large number of pieces currently on the collector's market, we have traces of repairs or strong conservation where, if it is not done properly, the feature in the form of embossed and clearly visible dry seals disappears irretrievably. Here at the auction we have a piece in a natural state of preservation, with a beautiful appearance, in addition to which it comes from a well-known collection of Polish banknotes - the Lucow collection is also a piece of notable provenance.
