PWPW 400 zloty 1996 studio banknote with the image of King Sigismund III Vasa.
Variety - double-sided printing of MODEL.
Among the many varieties of this banknote, the one with the MODEL overprint on both the obverse and reverse appears for the first time in the auction offer. The banknote from the auction, is a typical print proper, complete, with all the features and security features applied to it, such as :
* watermark - image of King Sigismund III Vasa in profile,
* printing of hologram rosette - PWPW logo,
* use of contour printing (dry intaglio) - visible denomination 400 at the right angle,
* use of printing with optically variable ink (the guilloche changes colors depending on the angle of view - from green through yellow to red) and many others.
The purpose of publishing this item was to show the technical capabilities of the PWPW printing house and present them to the decision-makers of the time, in order to persuade them to decide to move the printing of Polish banknotes from Great Britain (Thomas De La Rue printing house) - to Poland (PWPW Warsaw). The initiative was most successful, as in the end it was decided to move the printing of our 1994 issue banknotes to Poland.
