Banknote 5 marks 1940 of the Lodz Ghetto, rare variety, printing on cardboard paper (thick). Numbering 100031, the numerator itself - type 1, with one dash under the "o" in No and as in all known pieces of this variety (cardboard paper) we have a form of numbering printing in orange.
According to current knowledge on the subject, two different colors of ink were not used when printing the numbering, the influence on the different color of the numerator over time was most likely due to the very paper used for printing the banknotes, i.e. its grade. In the case of the 5 mark 1940 denomination where we have cardboard paper - now we have numbering on it in orange, and on fine paper - the numbering is red.
From observation of the listing of this variety, the numbering in orange is present in the initial printing of this banknote, up to a certain number sequence in the numbering (according to the catalog by Jack Sarosiek, the highest recorded number of this variety is 161000) where after that we only have printing with numbering in red but already on normal (thin) paper.
