Boleslaw III the Wry-mouthed, Denarius - Knight with spear - rare.
The oldest and rarest type of denarius of Boleslaw III the Wrymouth, whose representation of the reverse "a building with three towers ..." represents a continuation of the minting of Ladislaus I Herman.
Av.: A knight in front with a spear in his right hand and a shield in his left hand. In the rim: BOLE - ZLΛV
Rw.: Building with three towers crowned with crosses.
Condition: NGC MS61
Minor scarcity in the rim, but for this type a beautifully preserved coin. Deep, plastic relief. Beautiful detail. A lot of luster. Very high NGC grade. Although the NGC grading shows a significant number of denarii in equivalent and higher grades, it covers all types of denarii of Boleslaw III the Wrymouth, and according to our market discernment, this is the only piece of the "Knight with Spear" type to haveappeared on the Polish numismatic market with an MS grade. In this condition, the coin is very rare and very difficult to obtain on the collector market. Piece to decorate the best collections.
