John III Sobieski, Sixpence 1684 SP, Bydgoszcz - beautiful and rare
Bust in profile to the right wearing a laurel wreath and armor covered with a cloak.
Under the bust the initials S P (Samuel von Phachter - mintmaster of the Bydgoszcz mint).
Variety with the coat of arms of Jelita (Marcin Zamoyski - Great Treasurer of the Crown) in an oval shield dividing the obverse inscription at the bottom on the reverse.
Condition: NGC MS62
A beautifully struck and preserved piece. Deep, artistic relief. Beautiful detail. Intense luster and mint mirror. Mint condition of the coin confirmed by high NGC grade. This is the piece that received the highest NGC MS62 grade and it is one of two pieces with MS62 grade. In this state of preservation, the coin is rare and difficult to find on the collector market. A beautiful piece for discerning collectors.
