Wladyslaw I Herman, Cracow denarius - very nice.
The denarius of Prince Wladyslaw I Herman minted at the Cracow mint. Second issue - minted presumably (according to Piotr Chabrzyk) since 1089, that is, since the death of Mieszko Boleslawovic and Vladislav I Herman's assumption of rule in Cracow.
Av.: Head of the ruler facing left. In the rim a barbed notation of the ruler's name VLΛDIZLΛVS.
Rw.: A building with three towers topped with crosses. In the rim a barbarized inscription CRΛCOV.
Variety with towers topped with crosses.
Additional points behind the ruler's head.
Condition: NGC MS63
A beautifully struck and preserved piece. Beautiful, deep, plastic relief. Great detail, especially on the obverse. More interesting variant with points behind the ruler's head on the obverse. Very high NGC grade. In this state of preservation, the coin is rare and difficult to find on the collector's market. A beautiful piece for discerning collectors.
