Sigismund II Augustus, Half-penny 1562, Vilnius - inverted Axe - rare
Fourteenth type of Eagle and eighteenth type of Hound (tail raised).
The inverted Axe coat of arms shares the otolith inscription at the bottom of the reverse - very rare.

Inscribed variety with the king's titulature on the obverse ending in a ... L and an obverse inscription on the reverse ending in ... LITV

Shallow minted, but for this beautifully preserved piece. Glossy and lots of mirror. Very rare variety with an inverted Axe coat of arms at the bottom of the reverse. The coin is very rare. In this state of preservation practically unavailable on the collector's market. Piece to adorn the best collections.
