Sigismund III Vasa, Trojak 1596, Vilnius - rarer and beautiful
Portrait of the king with his head facing right.
Characteristic trojak with the denomination III below the coat of arms "Snopek" (the family coat of arms of the Vasa family) and with the full date 1 - 5 - 9 - 6 separated by an Eagle, a denomination and a Pogo.
Variety with the Chalecki coat of arms (of Demetrius Chalecki - Grand Treasurer of Lithuania) on the left and the mintmaster's mark "lion pierced with a hook" (of Daniel Koste - mintmaster of the Vilnius mint) at the bottom right on the reverse.
Condition: NGC MS63
A beautifully struck and preserved piece. Beautiful detail. Intense luster and mint mirror all over the surface. Mint condition confirmed by a very high NGC grade. Rarer variety. In this state of preservation, the coin is quite rare and quite difficult to get on the collector market.
