Sigismund III Vasa, Trojak 1596, Vilnius - beautiful and rare
Royal portrait with head facing right.
Characteristic trojak with the denomination III below the coat of arms "Snopek" (the family coat of arms of the Vasa family) and with the full date 1 - 5 - 9 - 6 separated by an Eagle, a denomination and a Pogo.
Variety with the Chalecki coat of arms (of Demetrius Chalecki - Grand Treasurer of Lithuania) on the left and the mintmaster's mark "lion pierced with a hook" (of Daniel Koste - mintmaster of the Vilnius mint) at the bottom right on the reverse.
Condition: 1-
Characteristic of this type of coin, minor local deficiencies, but a well-preserved piece. Deep, plastic relief. Excellent detail. Intense luster and mint mirror throughout. A rarer variety. In this state of preservation, the coin is rare and difficult to find on the collector's market. Piece for discerning collectors.
