Sigismund III Vasa, Trojak 1597, Vilnius - exquisite - rare
Royal portrait with head facing right.
Distinctive trojak with the denomination III below the coat of arms "Snopek" (the family coat of arms of the Vasa family) and with the full date 1 - 5 - 9 - 7 separated by an Eagle, a denomination and a Pogo - very rare.
The variety with the Chalecki coat of arms (of Demetrius Chalecki - Grand Treasurer of Lithuania) on the left and the mintmaster's mark "lion pierced with a hook" (of Daniel Koste - mintmaster of the Vilnius mint) at the bottom right on the reverse - very rare.
Condition: PCGS MS63
A superbly struck and preserved piece in excellent condition. Beautiful relief. Excellent detail. Impressive luster and mint mirror all over. A rarer vintage. Very rare variety. In this state of preservation, the coin is very rare and practically unavailable on the collector's market. An exquisite piece to adorn the best collections.
