Banknote 2 thalers 01.12.1810 of the Duchy of Warsaw -.
ser. B - 5-digit numbering : 56342 , variety with the stamp of the Central Liquidation Commission on the reverse, type with the signature of the commissioner - Walenty Sobolewski.
An outstanding piece in terms of condition, this is one of the best preserved pieces on the market, virtually uncirculated. Due to the early years of issuance as well as the delicate, even "tissue" paper used for their printing, to this day the vast majority of thaler banknotes are even preserved in agonal states of preservation, and even these, due to their lack of widespread availability, are eagerly added to collections. A banknote like the one in the auction should be considered, unique, as evidenced not only by the lack of breakage but also by the beautifully preserved two dry stamps.
An attractive piece, confirmed by PMG's high grading bill, NET annotation awarded for two visible glue marks in the central part of the banknote, no less excellent presentation and condition - this is the 2nd Max bill of this denomination in PMG's register, there is only one recorded piece with a higher bill.
Literature : Miłczak A13b - type (h) signature of Valentine Sobolewski.
