Lot description Show orginal version
Grade: F+

Banknote of 5 Rhenish guilders 1806, so called bankocettel - the name was taken from the issuer, which was the Municipal Bank of Vienna "Wiener Stadt Banco-Zettel", which issued the first Austrian paper money between 1759 and 1806.

Piece with traces of circulation, has several breaks through the field. An all-natural banknote with well-preserved dry stamps, as well as a visible handwritten numbering with signature, with a satisfactory presentation.

This paper money was in circulation in the Polish lands under the Austrian partition (Galicia) , used by the Polish population, there it was called the Rhine gold. On the banknote of this issue we have denomination markings in as many as five languages, including Polish.
