Augustus III Sas, Ort 1753 EC, Leipzig - exquisite
On the obverse bust in profile in profile to the right wearing a crown.
On the reverse a crowned shield of arms. Under the shield the denomination mark 18 and initials E - C (Ernest Dietrich Croll - mincmaster of the Leipzig mint).
The bust is narrow with smooth shoulder straps, a cross-section of the sleeve and a smooth ribbon of the Order of the Golden Fleece.
Crown fields of the obverse and reverse smooth with suspensions in the center fields. On the obverse, pearl suspensions.
The clasp brooch is oval with a pearl border.
A variant of the reverse with eleven leaves.
Variation of punctuation without a dot ending the obverse inscription on the obverse and with a dot after the date.

Minimally battered top parts of obverse, but a superbly struck and preserved piece. Deep, artistic relief. Beautiful detail. Intense luster and mint mirror. A sought-after and highly regarded portrait. Rarer vintage. An exceptional coin for discerning collectors.
